« The ss Omapere arrived nlongsido the wharf at 8.30 this morning. She left Dunedin at midnight on the 4th inst, and called at Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton, leaving the latter port at 4p m yesterday. Experienced strong south-east winds with flno weather; in coming through the Strait a «naden squall struok her, carrying away her foretopmnat. The Omapere sailß for Auckland via But Coast to-day The 89 Eotoiua left Dunedin at 2. 58 pm. on the 7th inst, and Lyttolton at 9 last night, and here *t 10.45 this morning. Had atronir south-west with heavy sea, to arrival. She sails tomorrow for Pioton and Nelson The steamer Mahinapua loft Wostport at 10 ».m. yesterday, pasted Cape Farewell at 6 p m., experienced strong south-west wind with heavy sea. and arrived here at 12 20 this afternoon. She returns to-night The as Pengnin left Nelson at 7 p m. yesterday and oame to an anchor at 1 this morning, owing to thick weather; moved on at 4 o'clock, and arrived at Fioton at 6 o'clook ; left again at 6.90. and arrived here at 11.20 a.m. Experienced (strong S E. gale and haavy sea aoroßa the StraitOha left for the South to-day The bb Tui left Foxton at 9 Inst night, exiperieuced strong southerly gale, and arrived here at 11 tibis morning. She retnrns to-night The ateamer Waihi, made a start for Blenheim last evening, but had to return Borne night, owing to bad weather. She leaves again to-night
