It is not olaimed for these Fire (ExtingTiishers that thoy can take the place ot a Fire Dopartment, but simply to enable everybody to conquer incipient fires before a fire-engine could reach them, the first five minutes at a fire being worth more than as many hours afterwards. The many praotioal proofs reoeived of actual, and what threatened to be severe fires, being got under oheok, and extinguished completely, by these Harden Star Grsnadxs, are sufficient guarantees of their merit, whilst their oheapness brings them within the roach of all property-holders. These Harden Star Grenades are now to be found in the Publio Institutions, Hotels, Stores, Warehouses, and Dwellinghouseß of the United States Cities and Townships. They are to be Been in the passages of Drury Lane, The Savoy, Globe, and other Theatres, South Kensington Museums, International Inventions Exhibition, the Publio Buildings. Hotels, and Warehouses in London, and all throughout tho United Kiogdom. Wo herewith submit a few praotioal proofs as a sample : — Surrey Connty Lunatio Asylum, near Tooting, S.W., . February 26, 1585. On Saturday,' the 21st inst., some very successful experiments were made here, demonstrating the complete efnoienoy of tho Harden Star Hand Grenades in extinguishing fire. Without going into detail, I may add that tho Committee of the Asylum, in whose presence the experiments took place, were so satisfied of the value of the invention, that they ordered fifteen dozen of the Grenades for distribution throughout the Asylum. J. Strange Biggs, M.D., Superintendent. Gloucester Oil Mill, February 24, 1»83. To Mr. George Martin. Agent for the Harden Star Hand Grenade Co., Stroud. Dear Sir, — On February Ist our watchman discovered a fire at the back of our boilers. When first he saw it tho flames wore about 6 feet high. He immediately used one of your Grenades, which cheoked the flames, but finding they wore likely to break out again, he used another one, which completely put out the fire. The fire originated from tome old bagging whioh had aoonmulated, and it is a very difficult matter to put that kind of fire out, as old bags in our plaoe are always very oily.— Yours faithfully, Foster Bros, (por John D.
