♦ - ARRIVAL OF THE YACHTS XARIFFA AND ANNIE OGLE.
The yacht XaruTa arrived in harbor shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday, after a run ol 47 hours from Lyttelton, squally weather and heavy seas having been encountered during the passage. She was in company with the Annie Ogle off Kaikoura, hut lost sight of her during a squall. The yacht Annie Ogle loft Lyttelton in company with the yacht Xarifa at 2 p.m. on the 10th; passed the Heads at 5 p.m., with moderate N.E. breeze, light variable winds all night. 11th— Wind still light from N.W.; " sighted Kaikouras at 10 a.m. ; calm all tho afternoon ; at 7.30, a strong breeze from the 13. E. sprang up; had to reef inainsail and set storm jib; in doing so carried away second jib. 12th — Breeze from S.E. still continues. Sighted Cape Campbell light at 1 this morning, and shaped course for Wellington Heads; saw tho Heoda at 6.30 a.m., and came up to them j at 8 a.m. It being thick weather, missed the entrance and drifted to the northward, and j remained becalmed the remainder of the day. \ 13th— Still calm. Saw the light at 2 a.m., got a breezo from N.E. at 5 a.m., and made tho anchorage at 0. Both yachts compete at the coming regatta.
