THE AUCKLAND CRICKETERS. TO THE EDITOR OF THE EVENING POST.

Sir — Allow me to correct two or three errors which I observe in your issue of Wednesday last with regard to the Auckland public and its representative team, for such they undoubtedly were, and the strongest that coald possibly leave the province, those in Auckland who deny that being a small clique of disappointed men, who did all in their power to prevent the team starting, circulated unwarrantable reports' among the public, even descending so low as to advise Canterbury and Otago of ourjbeing " the greatest pack of blackguards that could be scraped up in the province of Auckland," the chief mover in this scheme being a man who, lo my own knowledge, was turned Out of one or two leading hotels here, and who will duly meet hia reward on the arrival of the team in Auckland. In conclusion, I may say safely the Auckland public have evinced the greatest interest on our behalf, both before and since the depar'vare ot the team, notwithstanding the leading articles in the New Zealand Herald, for which they were indebted to the above-mentioned clique. , I am, &c, Qxe ov the Team.

Dennis O'Shaaghnessy advertises as follows in the Columbus Republican ; — " I hereby give .notice that my wife Bridget ' Has 1 left my bed and board, and that I will not pay her debts, as we are not married."
