£1314 NOW IN HAND FOB ELJLESMERE Further sums received by the secretary of Ellesmere County Controlling Committee on behalf of the house-to-house canvass for patriotic funds, brings the total to £1314 11/10. Acknowledgements, as below, total £30/7/-.
In the Brookside School-room next Friday, October 12, a welcome home social will be tendered to Private R. S. Crossen and Gunner J. H. Pearce. There will be cards and dancing. 2
It was mentioned at the meeting of the Ellesmere branch of the Farmers' Union last night that it was most likely that Federated Formers woujd be ready to commence its work in January. In that event the Ellesmere branch of the Farmers' Union would cease to function at the end of the year. Preparations to wind-up the branch were discussed briefly and a further meeting- is to be held early in November to make plans to this effect. " •
