RICH COMEDY NEXT SATURDAY
"Oh, Mr Porter!" the hilarious new Will Hay starring vehicle, which will be shown at Southbridge Town Hall next Saturday; presents this popular comedian in his most brilliant screen role. The film abounds in rich, spontaneous humour and moves in lightning tempo through sidesplitting situations and uproarious complications to a magnificent climax las suspense-filled as it is mirth-pro- ! yoking. j The star is cast as William Porter f —railway employee—the bane of the [company' existence, who causes as many vagaries on the railway as the famous Mr Porter in the old song. ! Unable to fire him on account of his high-placed relations, the company finds a splendid solution to the problem by shanghaiing the unfortunate man as station master to an obscure off-the-map town in Northern Ireland. | The peak of the film is reached when Will Hay—determined to solve the mystery of his missing trainsets off in an old Victorian engine, "Gladstone," accompanied by his two assistants, and by methods as quaint as those of the criminal are cruel, the unruffled trio manage to outwit a gang of gunmen and bring them to justice.
