PUBLIC NOTICE SPRINGS-ELLESMERE ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT RETICULATION LOAN, 1939 TO BE RAISED BY SPECIAL ORDER "OUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY " GIVEN that at a meeting of The Springs - Ellesmere Electric - powei Board held on the 13th day "of March 1939, the following resolution was passed by way of Special Order, anc that such resolution will be confirmee at a meeting of the said Board tc be held at the Board's Offices at Leeston on the 17th day of April 1939, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon The said resolution is as follows:— In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Section 15 of "The Finance Act (No 2), 1936," and by Section 45 oi "The Electric-power Boards Act 1925," and with the sanction of The Local Government Loans Board the Springs-Ellesmere Electricpower Board hereby resolves bj way of Special Order as follows: (a) For the purpose of providing additional moneys for the furthei reticulation of the Springs-Elles-mere Electric-power District, the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-powei Board hereby authorises the borrowing in New Zealand of a loan of £25,000 at a rate not exceeding three and a half per centum pei annum for a period of twenty-five years, such loan to be known as the Reticulation Loan, 1939. (b) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equa] aggregate half-yearly instalments extending over the period of the loan. (c) The payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. (d) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised. (c) The Board shall establish a Sinking Fund in respect of the said loan, and shall pay into such Sinking Fund an amount equal to two and a-half per centum of the moneys from time to time raised thereunder during the term of the said loan. (f) The said loan shall be secured by a special rate, annually recurring, of 55/1000 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the Springs-Ellesmere Electric-power District. Pursuant to Section 15, Sub-sec-tion 2 of "The Finance Act (No. 2), 1936," notice is hereby given THAT A POLL OF THE RATEPAYERS of the Springs-Ellesmere Electricpower District is required to be taken upon the question of the raising of the said loan, if not less than five per centum of the said ratepayers so demand, by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the Board before the time fixed for the confirmation of the said resolution.
