LEESTON MEN'S CLUB

The annual meeting of the Leeston Men's Hockey Club was held last night, Mr R. G. Newton presiding.

The annual report, presented by the secretary, Mr E. C. Maindonald, stated that the club entered one team in the third grade A competition, and although it finished seventh, performed very creditably, as the team was second equal in the lowest number of goals scored against it. The financial position had improved, there being a debit of only 7/6.

Three new members were elected.

Election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr C. Eade; president, Mr R. G. Newton; vice-presidents, Messrs B. Stafford, P. B. Birkett, F. V. Gwatkin, W. Brims, E. F. Owens, Rev. E. Hanna; secretary and treasurer, Mr E. C. Maindonald; club captain, Mr H. Bongard; team captain, Mr E. F. Owens; committee, Messrs C. Newton, L. Smith, J. Scott, D. Goulden; selection, committee, club captain, team captain, and secretary; delegate to Canterbury Hockey Association, Mr E. C. Maindonald.

The subscription was fixed at 12/6 for seniors and 7/6 for juniors, 18 being flxeS as the age limit for the latter. A team is to be entered in the Christchurch competitions and the season is to be opened on April 15.
