Mr W. R Forrest le(t for Dun edin this morning. Mr A. Thomson, who has been visiting his father (Mr Wm. Thomson) left last Wednesday, Mr & Mrs W. Gye, after a holiday at Port Chalmers and Dunedin, returned home on Friday last. Mr Edward Purton, a single man, aged 74, died suddenly at Cromwell on Friday last. Some years ago he lived at Clyde when his brother (the late Mr M Purton) was licensee of the Hartfey Arms Hotel. Dr Kidd, medical superintendent of Waipiata Sanatorium, wishes to advise his patients in the Vincent Hospital Board district that he will visit Dunstan Hospital at 10a.m. and Cromwell Hospital at 1.45 p.m. on Wednesday, 11th June, to interview and examine patients. MrP.J, Twomey of the'Lepers’ Trust Board has been appointed Director, the position of Secre tary being filled by the appointment of Mi Owen T. Scully of Christchurch. Since the Board meeting Mr Twomey, who has done years of noble service, has been admitted to Lewisham Hospital for treatment, but hopes soon actively to resume duty.
