Consignments of Central Otago fruit have been short of requirements, specially selected dessert apples realising as high as 3 /id, A good demand exists for Alexandra grown strawberry plants. Sales were as under : Apples.— Jonathans, Cox’s Orange and Delicious realised 2 ; 4 d, 3d, 3 / ' + / d, 3>zd, choice cookers 1 Ad, and 2d.
Pears— 1/ 4 dto 2d, cookers ijjd to 1 d.
Peaches cases 1 J 4 d 1 ■;/d to 2d. crate fruit 3d to qd. Plums— 1 d and 2d. Quinces— Good demand Tomatoes—specially selected 2/f d, others 1 ]i d to 2d, locals 3d to qd. Pickling Onions —IJ2d, 2d. Garlic—2/qd, Green peas— 2/4 d, Short supply. Marrows —Large sacks 6s 6d. Cauliflowers —Wanted. Table onions—Lb.
Potatoes—High values are ruling,
Rabbitskins are now coming forward freely and experienced a good demand.
Consignments of good dessert fruits wanted.
