(From our own correspondent.) As the mild weather continues it is hopeless to expect any lower level in the river this season. Electric 2 has shifted lower down the river to try another part of the claim. The Harley is still waiting for the top tumbler but were it here she could not dredge in the gorge where she is. There was a great falling off in the return from Electric 1 considering the three figured ones she has been getting lately.

On the Clutha Shine 1 is still on poor ground. No. 2is not ready yet as the Eleva or of the sunken dredge is some distance from her on the tailings and the new dredge will have to dredge her way there to have it erected.

The Rising Sun started baling out the paddock on Friday week. On Thursday evening a sheave of the lifting gear corried away causing a stoppage.
