Dunstan District Hospital.
The regular monthly meeting of the trustees of the above institution was held in the secretary’s office at Clyde on Tuesday last there being present Messrs F. Jeffery, (chair) W. R. McKean, G. Cuthbertson, T. Barry and Jno. Smart. A letter from the secretary of the Cromwell Hospital re the coming election of trustees was received, the secretary having replied to same.
The visiting committee reported that everything in and about the institution was satisfactory, that Nurse McLeod had entered upon her duties and that a representative of Messrs Shaddock had examined the range and promised to send in a written report on the defects of the hot water system. The surgeon reported that there were five patients in the hospital at the beginning of the month, four had been admitted during the month and three discharged, leaving six remaining at the end of the month. Of the patients admitted two were from Alexandra, one from Omakau, and one from the Railway Works. The visiting committee were instructed to furnish the mattress and other things recommended by the surgeon, also to have the fanlight over the main hall door, that was blown in by the late storm, re- } placed. The treasurer’s statement showed that if all accounts up to date were paid there would be a debit balance of £SB ii 2, but against that there was subsidy due of £sg ig 2. Accounts for salaries and supplies for the month of October, amounting to were passed for payment.
The secretary was instructed to write the local contributing bodies re the election of trustees for the coming year.
Arrangements were made for the presentation of the testimonial to Nurse Thomson from the Board and the meeting then closed.
