THE NEW HEBRIDES.
ADELAIDE. July 16
Rev. Dr Paton, the veteran New Hebrides missionary, has returned from London. He states that the proposal of France to annex the New Hebrides, and send one hundred thousand convicts there was checked by the protests from Australia and Great Britain. These low-class criminals had been deported elsewhere, but their destination is unknown.
