MINING ITEMS.
The following is the White’s Reef Mine Manager’s report for the week ending May 26th, 1888 The main tunnel has been extended 14ft; the lode in the face is fully 20in thick, and resting on a good foot wall ; gold can be seen freely in the stone. Stoping has been carried on east and west of No. 1 rise ; the ’ lode continues small, but prospects well, it is from 9in to Ift thick. There lias only been three day's crushing this week owing to water-race being blocked with snow. Plates were scraped on Saturday and yielded 2Goz of amalgam from 15 tons of stone.
