Chaffee and Waldersee in Conflict.
United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. (Received Dec. 11, 8.30 a.m.) London, Dec. 10. General Chaffee, in charge of the American squadron on the China station, wrote to Count Waldersee, Commander-in Chief, complaining of his action in removing astronomical instruments erected by the early Jesuit missionaries on the walls of Pekin. The letter was returned to General Chaffee owing to its tone.
