The Morning Herald, commenting on Mr Spreckles's San Francisco mail service scheme, after dwelling on the claims of the Union Co. for consideration, says :—" There are almost as many complications about the question as about the rival cables scheme. Of course it will always be open to the two existing trans Pacific companies to amalgamate and give us an improved rival service to Vancouver, keeping our own trade under our own flag. This is part of the question to be considered.
