FIRE IN OTAGO.
[per peess association.] , Dunedin, This day. A fire at NtSrth-easit Valley this morning destroyed Parker's tannery, also two cottages occupied by Messrs Parker and dough. The fire is supposed to have originated by some live ashes being blown by the high wind on to the leather curiDg floor. Insurances — on the tannery stock £1260, and on the new imilding £500, divided between the National, Standard, Victoria, Alliance, Australian Alliance, and North British, and £400 on the old building in the South British ; furniture, £150 divided among the same offices ; his house, £200 in the South British. Ciough's furniture, £50 in the Victoria, £100 in the .Manchester
