Southern Cross, ship Venus, ketch'
The 8. a. Lily arrived from "Wairoa yesterday afternoon with several passengers and another load of sheep for the North British and Hawke's Bay Freezing Company. She is to Bteam again for Wairoa to-night at midnight. The 8.8. Australia arrived at about 8 o'clock last night from Wellington, and landed her cargo during the morning. She then commenced to load wool and tallow, of whioh Bhe takes 150 casks and 100 bales for transhipment to Auckland. She was to leavo at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
The s.s. Kahu, Captain Komerill, arrived from Wellington this morning. She brought a largo cargo from that place, besides a qufutity of wool from Cape Turnagain. blit) was to take in some coastal cargo this afternoon, and steam for Wellington vii cjHst etations at 4 o'clock.
The s.s. Tarawera leaves Wellington tomorrow, and will arrive here on Sunday morning, proceeding to Gisborne and Auckland in the evening. The launch withoutgoing passengers will leave the wharf at 4 p m. The SB. Wairarapa will leave Auckland to-raorrow, and arrive here on Monday
morr.iag. The 8 a. Southern Cross is due here from Auckland and intermediate porta on Tuesday morning. Bhe leaves for Wellington on some day. , The a s. Kanieri will have Auckland tomorrow for East Ooast stations and Gisborno. She does not come to Napier this trip, but returns from Gisborne to Auckland.
The Sβ. Wakatipu leaves Wellington for Sydney direct on Thursday next. Thes.s. Alameda arrived at Auckland at 8.25 this morning from fc'an Francisco via Honolulu
The New Zealand Shipping Company have cable advice that the ship Hurunui, which left here on the 7th January, arrived all well at London on the 20th inst, after a passage of 103 days. The Waihora arrived at the Bluff from Melbourne via Geelong yesterday.
During the recent stay of the North German Llyod's steamer Koln at Santos, her chief officer, chief and second engineer, surgeon, cook, and one seaman died of yellow fever, and five seamen were left behind in the hoepital. The company's steamers are now avoiding the port of San toe.
The barque Colwyn, from Newcastle for Valparaiso, wae considered overdue on February 24th. She left Newcastle on sth December with a cargo of 1644 tons of Walleend coal. She was built in 1877, and is owned by Messrs G. Traill and Co. Beinsuranceß up to £G5 per cent, had been paid on her. The new pilot steamer Captain Cook, built for service at Sydney Heads, is stated to be one of the finest pilot vessels afloat. On her recent trial trip she made a epeed of 13 knots an hour.
