Dunedin, This day

In consequence of what has transpired in connection with tho appointments of members, the City Schools Board to-day set up a committee to enquire into the matter. They carried a resolution expressive of appreciation of the late Mr Parks's lengthy services as teacher. On the question of distempering schools, it was pointed out that while tho work was necessary all over the district, there were not the available funds. It was decided that a deputation should wait on the Minister for Education when here, urging him to increase the "■rant for buildings in the Otago district.
