Sydney. November IS. The Legislative Assembly resumed its sittings to-day, when Mr D'ibbs, Premier, made a short statement. The Electoral I Reform Bill, he said, would provide for the abolition of the plural vote and the payment of a deposit on nomination, and would confer the Parliamentary vote by residence only. The Treasurer, Mr Dibbs added, would make his Financial Statement on Tuesday week, and in the meantime the Electoral Bill would bg puehed through. Owing to failing health Sir Henry Parkee has definitely declined to take the leadership of the Opposition, and Mr Gγ. H. Reid has been unanimously elected to that position. He made a statement in the House to-day to the effect that the Freetrade party would assist the Government to the utmost in parsing useful legislation, but would strongly oppose a Protection policy.
