A lot of work was done this morning, commencing soon after four o'clock, Cruchfield, assisted by Fairchild in the last mile of a mile and a quarter, going fairly well. Queen of Trumps and Thame did long half-pace work, ani Whisper and Cynieca were exercised a few furlongs of one circuit. Merry England strode along pleasingly over a mile, and Florrie, Yattaghan, and Tassy galloped seven furlongs fast, May and Ruby doing a furlong less in fair time. Christmas aud Freeman did good schooling work. Norton did a solid and fairly good milo and a-half. British Lion performed an even gallop of a mile and three-quarters, assisted in th'i last round by Heather Bell. Flinders, Freedom, and Crown Jewel did medium work, and Whakawatea travelled four furlongs fast. Roaefeldt did only steady pacing. None of the others executed gallops out of the ordinary, though Crackshot's mile fast was the best of the morning-
