At Flemington this morning Strathmore and Dillon put in a strong mile, while Highborn and Jack had a sterling gallop over the same distance. Whimbrel was restricted to half-pace work over three miles. All these three horses look remarkably well. The blocking of Oxide in the Derby on Saturday is likely to te brought before the committee of the V.R.O. Tho following is the latest betting on the Melbourne Cup :—IOO to 20 against Strathmore and Pigeontoe, 100 to 8 Whimbrel, 100 to 7 Correze and Forty Winks, 100 to 6 Malvolio, G'Naroo, and Paris, 100 to 5 Highborn, Qreygown, Muriel, and Megaphone, 109 to 4 Oxide, Sir William, and Litigant, 100 to 3 Carrington, Tirailleur, T'antallon, King Olaf, Prelude, Btromboli, The Tyler, and Cobham, 100 to 2 Yarran, Portsea, Dundas, Annesley, and Swordbearer, 100 to 1 the others.
