[by telegeaph.] Wellington, This day. The House of Representatives met this morning at eleven o'clock. An hour was taken up in discussion of the report of the Noxious Weeds Committee, recommending the Government to frame a Bill in the recess to deal with gorse, sweet briar, Oalifornian thistle, Bathurst burr, and similar weeds. Captain Russell strongly urged the Government to establish a Bureau of Agriculture, and this was supported by the other country members. _ The Minister for Lands said he was getting information on the Bubject from other countries, and when this was completed, he would ask Parliament for a vote. He assured the House he would spare no efforts in the matter, and would probably bring down a Bill next session. The amendment seemed to give considerable satisfaction to tlie country members.
Both the Appropriation Bills were passed through Committee. The Public Works Appropriation Bill was put through all its stages, Ministers having taken out the clause affecting the Railway Commissioners' authority. The debate on the general Appropriation Bill takes place this afternoon.
The Hospital Trustees Bill, empowering the Governor-in-Council to appoint Commissioners to carry on the management of a hospital in case all its trustees shall resign, was put through all its stages.
