Visitors are cordially invited to the opening of the Napier Bowling Club's season on Saturd&r afternoon. A match will be played between teams chosen by the president and vice-president.

An address will (D.V.) be given in the Foresters' Hall (next Gaiety Theatre) tomorrow, at 7.30 p.m. Subject—" God's dealings with the world, past, present, and future," illustrated by large diagram. A subject of great interest to all.

Our Danevirke correspondent writeE : — "A meeting of the Library Committee was held on Wednesday evening. It was decided to forward a list of books to the booksellers, so as to get a fresh stock at once. The library concert was discussed, and it was reported that some sixteen ladies and gentlemen woulr l sing ab the concert, which will be divided into two parts, the second part to consist of a very amusing farce, entitled ' Trifles Light as Air.' A bumper house is expected."

Messrs P. A. Herman and Co., agents for Mr S. R. Clark, Victoria, have received another consignment of Australian and native furs, which are now to be seen at the firm's auction mart. The consignment comprises furs in opossum, kangaroo, wallabi, etc., and are guaranteed free from the attacks of moths, weevils, and other insects so destructive to native furs. All the goods are well tanned, and as they are to be sold without reserve, no doubt they will command a ready sale. Messrs Herman and Co.'s premises will be kept open tomorrow evening, when the various furs may be inspected.
