There are I seven events, including the -rand National steeplechase, of 500 soys; 3oud horse, 75 I soys; third, 25 soys ; about -ree and a-half miles. Ladies' Bracelet, -. 60 soys ; two miles; and Grand Nation.-,: HUirdle Race Handicap. 300 soys; 2 mile-. Nominations close for Steeple and Hurdla Race on ~ntur- :- diy, 20th June, and for the rest of the events on Saturday, 20th July. At a meeting of the Stewards of the Wellington Racing Club on Saturday afternoon the case of Rnynor, the rider of Re enge, who was disqualified for suspicious riding was re-opened. The stewards decided that in the fa«e of the evidence brought forward at the enquiry into ihe case of the trainer on _ riday night there wa- not sufficient testimony to envit the jockey, and they removed (he disqualification. After we went to press on Saturday Empr»BS won the Selling Race, of 40 soys, | one mile, at the Wellington races, St Malo being second, and Satyr third , dividend, £4 lis The Election Handicap was ap propiiated by Weka, who got home a neok in front of Retina, and paid £13 2s.
