CABLE STEAMER.

"Wellington, This day. The cable repairing steamer Recorder arrived here this morning short of coal. Owing to the unfavorable weather she encountered she has been unable to complete the repairs to the Australian cable, but leaves again to look at it to-morrow morning. It will therefore be some days yet before she is available to pick up and repair the Cook Strait cable Captain Gray, of the Customs Department, will pilot the steamer in the latter work.
