THE MISSING MAN DAVIES.

Uisbohnb, This day. A careful search was made yesterday for the missing man Edward Davies, but without any good result. When he disappeared in January last he left behind his slothing and money. When he returned yesterday he said he was afraid of some men who were trying , to take his property. He said he offered evidence against a person who committed the crime at Ashburton, the consequence being that his life had been threatened, anrl threats were made that his property would be taken away. Except on this point he was quite rational. He stayed half a day and then mysteriously decamped again. Bp.iug without food, he is likely to be captured shortly.
