DEPARTURES.

February. 3—Orowaiti, s.s, for "Westport. R. Puflett, agent. 4—Te Kapu, s.s., for Wairoa. Smith and Provis, agents. The locally owned barquentine Rio, Captain Dunn, arrived from Newcastle yesterday afternoon, and anchored in the bay. She brings a cargo of coals, part of which will have to be lightered before she can come inside. The ss. Duke of Sutherland, Captain Ball, arrived from Gisborne at 7 o'clock this morning. She anchored at the ballast ground, where she is discharging 250 tons ballast. She is to load 22,000 carcasses meat here, and leaves for Wellington on Saturday night. The collier Orowaiti steamed for Westport yesterday afternoon. The schooner Crest of the Wave is now on her way from Bluff to here with a cargo of oats for Messrs Smith and Provis. The ketch Catliu is expected shortly from Dunedin. The s.s. Te Kapu left for Wairoa at 6 o'clock this morning. The schooner Waireka is to sail for Dunedin to-morrow. She loads at the latter port for here. The R.M.B. Aorangi left Cape Town for New Zealand via Hobart on Saturday last. The Jubilee arrived at Sydney from Wellington yesterday. The following sailing vessels are now Homeward hound from Napier :— Piako, ship, 88 days out; Asterion, barque, 70 days out; iEthelberht, barque, 39 days out; Balclutha, ship, 41 days out; Euterpe, ship, 32 days out; Turakina, ship, 11 days out; Rangitiki, ship, 7 days out.
