LUCKY SOUTHLANDERS.
Inveboaeqill, This day. At the second series of wool sales t"-day there was a largo attendance. About fifteen hundred bales were submitted with spirited competition. Up to noon the prices ranged from 8d to 10£ d for crossbred, and as high as llfd for half bred. The demand for merino was more active than at the last sale. The Southland farmers are in great heart, the splendid season, the abundant crops, and the high price of wool, making all hopeful. The prosperity of the country districts is reacting on the trade of the town, which shows signs of decided improvement.
