BnisHANE, This day Mr Maorossan moved in tho Assembly that tho territorial separation of tho northern portion of the colony was desirable. Sir S. Griffith, tho Chiet Secretary moved as an amendment that it woulcl be to tho advantage of tliocolonytoeetablishsepnnito legislatures, and that the executive authorities of tho northern, southern, and central parts have full powers to deal with questions of local concern, but matters of general concern and
tho administration of the public debt remain under tho control of one Legislature until tho establishment of Australian Federation. Tho debate was adjourned.
