Ac tho enquiry into the cxtensiAo fire which broke out in the premises of Messrs (Jiblis, Shiillard and Co. on tho Ist inst. tho supcrintendoni, of the fire brigade in his evidonco expressed the opinion that the present water mains in tho city aro inadequate to cope with any serious fire.
