The body of the missing man Walton was found in the river at Woodvillo yesterday, with a leather bag tied round the neck, containing a nineteen pound stone, which must have stopped the progress of the body down the stream, as the bag was entangled with a log. Tho river has lowered six feet since the time of Walton's disappearance, and this enabled the body to be discovered. Deceased's watch stopped atthohourof four. Au inquest into the circumstances was held at Woodville last evening, when a verdict was returned that deceased was found in the river, but there was no evidence to show how he got there, and medical testimony certified to death by suffocation from drowning.
