FOOTBALL.

A correspondent writes aa follows:— " Great disappointment was experienced in Tβ Houke on Saturday last, when the Takapati football team did not put in an appearance, as promised, to meet the native team. Great preparations had been made for their reception, and a feast prepared for the evening. The Te Houko team think the Takapau captain (William Rakare) ought to have informed them before hand of their intention not to play at tho appointed time, and are loud in their expressions of disapproval at the way in which they have been treated."
