Tub alleged train arrangements to come into force when railway connection between Napier uud Wellington is established are greatly exercising tho miud of our morning contemporary. Wo have before pointed out that when this connection is made, the terminal station on our local line will bo of no importance, andean neither benefit nor injure any town nt which it may be placed. We also pointed out that it could hardly be expected that Woodville could remain tho terminal, as it will be aaclosotoFalmerston as it is to Danevirke. It seems to have been forgotten throughout this discussion that when tho Napier lino is connected with the West Coast our railway will become merged in an important railway system in which the miserable jealousies of small bush settlements will have no part. In arranging a train system embracing the traffic between Wellington, Napier, Now Plymouth, and connecting with tho steam service from the latter place to Auckland, tho Commissioners have the requirements of the colonial public to consider rather than the private convenience of the Herald's hypothetical commercial traveller who may want to go from Napier to Waipuknrtiu and back within certain hours. If the Commissioners wero to listen to what everybody would like it would be impossible for them to pleaso anyono. Wβ feel quite safe in leaving the matter in their hands, and wo aro equally sure that when tho now train service is brought into operation wo shall soon got accustomed to it and learn to think that nothing could bo much bettor.
