D_*__- Sib, —Being intimate with ono o! the Principal Supervisors of 'Cxciso here, 1 sent him a f. w dozen of Messrs Si'Eiaui „ Co.'s Dunedin Beer, with tho object oi setting an opinion of the Excise Chemist on it, and 1 am glad to say he has pro- , nounced it one of tho Finest Beers he ever analysed, it having the high specific gravity , of 10-80 dog., the greatest amount of spirit, and the best quality of acid he ever came , across. When I fell you that every shipment of Beer going out of the Clyde must be sampled by the Excise Officers, and then analysed by their Chemists, I consider this opinion is better than anything elso I could say on it. Also took First and Second Prizes for their Strong Ales at the Melbourno Exhibition, 1881— Vide Jurors' Report. Ono hundred and twenty Barrels of Beor were submitted quito indiscriminately from all parts of the world, and had to be tested against ono another at ono and the same time. Your Jurors have had eleven Meetings, extending over a period of ono Month, from 20th November to 20th December, and have deliberated on an average of three hours each bitting, so that ample time and caro was duly taken to form a correct and acceptable judgment.
