The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows: —There was a full attendance at our Spit saleroom yesterday morning. Competition was good, and the recent improvement in prices was well maintained. Hides were a little firmer. Wool.—Cross-bred breechings sold up to sjd per lb; crossbred dead up to 6{d per lb. Sheepskins.—Half-breds sold up to 7|d per lb ; merinos up to 6§d per lb ; crossbreds np to 6jd per lb ; and crossbred hoggets up to 6fd per lb. Hides.—Wet salted heavies Bold up to 3|-d per lb; medium up to 2§d per lb ; inferior and light If d to 2d per lb ; calfskins up to 3|d per lb. Our next sale •will be held on Wednesday, Oth November. As our opening wool sale of the season will be hold about the first week in December, we would ttrougly urge our clients to send forward in the meantime without delay auy oddments of wool and sheepskins they may have for sale. When the wool sales commence fellmongers' parcels will be plentiful and competition for sheepskins and miscellaneouß lota of wool may not then bo BO keen.
