MAILS CLOSE
Monday, the 24th inst., being the anniversary of Her Majesty's birthday, will be observed as a Post-office holiday. Tho Chief Post-office will be open to the public on Saturday, 22n'l, from 7.30 to 5.30 p.m. for the delivery ol correspondence over the counter. Mails usually despatched on Monday laomings will close on Saturday, 2'2nd inst., at 9 p.m. . For Wellington, Southern ports of N.Z., and Melbourne, per s.s. Tarawera, on Saturday, at 11 a.m. For Gisborne and Auckland, per s.s. Manapouri, on Saturday, at 3 p.m._ For the Sandwich Islands, America, West Indies, tho United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, &c, via San Francisco, on Saturday, 22nd instant, at 2 p.m. Money orders close at noon, registered letters at 1 p.m., and book-packets and newspapers at 1.30 p.m. This mail will be due in London on 30th June. The s.s. Tainiu will leave Lyttelton for London on Saturday, 29th inst. Specially addressed correspondence for United Kingdom, &c, per Tainui, will close at Napier at 9 p.m. to-morrow (Saturday), for overland on Monday, for the mail leaving Wellington on 26th inst, for Lyttelton. This mail will be due in London about 10th July. For Tarawera, Taupo, Ohinemutu, and Tauranga on Monday, at 5.30 a.m. For Mohaka, Turiroa, Wairoa, Cricklewood, Mahia, Te Kapua, and Tuhara, on Monday, at 10 a.m. For Auckland (via Wanganui) on Monday and Tuesday, at 6 a.m. Forßissington, on Monday and Wednesday at 2.30 p.m. For Masterton, Castle Point, andFoxton on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 6 a.m. For Onga Onga, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 6 a.m. For Petane, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10.30 a.m. For Motuotaria, Wallingford, Porangahau, ..nd Herbertville, on Mondays and Thursdays, at 6 a.m. For Makaretu pud Blackburn, on Monday
and Friday, at 6 a.m. For Tikokin., on Tuesday, Thursday, and
