His Excellency Lord Augustus Loftus and family loft yesterday evening for Melbourne, where thoy will be tho guests of Sir Harry Loch for a short time, prior to their departure for England. Pending tho arrival of Lord Carrington, the administration of tho Government will bo in tho hands of Sir Jas. Martin, Lieut-Governor of tho Colony.
No further details have been received in regard to tho reported massacre of the geographical expedition by tho Fly River natives, and tho rumors of their fate aro genorally discredited in well-iuformed circles.
