Intelligence has been received from Chios Island, off the coast of Asia Minor, that a severe shock of earthquake has been experienced there. A large number of houses have been destroyed, and several persons seriously yvounded, though no loss of life has occurred. Neyvs is also to hand that the earthquake caused serious damage at Aivali, and that a number of deaths have occurred.
