Ebcnczcr Dickson, clmrgod with having been drunk at .Farndon yesterday, pleaded not guilty. He might have had a glass of Loci , , but was not drunk. Constable Pickering proved the charge, and the prisoner was fined 10s and costs, or in rdofaulfc 4S hours' imprisonment with hard labor. Robert Curliss admitted having been drunk at Napier yesterday, and ivas fined os and costs, with the usual alternative. LUNACY. Martha Smith, charged with being a lunatic not under proper care and control, was remanded until the 2-ith instant for medical examination. Margaret Gokler, on a similar charge, was committed to the Napier Lunatic Asylum. A DISPUTE SETTLED. The case against Frauk Williams for a breach of the Destitute Persons Act was withdrawn by consent of the Court, the defendant having made an agreement satisfactory to the prosecution. CIVIL CASES. Kinross v. Wood and Ford. —Claim £20, adjourned case. After hearing the argument of council on cither side, and taking the statement on oath of the defendant Ford, the case was adjourned until 25th instant, costs and solicitor's fee £1 Is to be paid by the defendant, the witnesses' expenses to be costs in the cause. -Napier Harbor Board v. Itccs.—Claim 17s 6d, rent. Judgment for plaintiff by default, with costs £1 15s, and solicitor's foe £2 2s. Mr Logan appeared for the plaintiffs. . Clcary v. Madden and Hogan.—Claim £22 Is, wages. Mr Leo for the plaintiff, and Mr Lascelles for the defendants. Judgment for plaintiff for .£ll 13s 6d, costs £2 10s, solicitor's fee £1 Is, and witnesses' expenses £1 7s. *«, Hatch v. J. King.—Claim .-CI 3s 3d. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs 7s. Samo v. B. Franklin.—Claim £G 17s Ud. Judgment for plaintiff for £5 17s-3d with costs 7s. Cottrcll v. A.
