August, jg Columbia, schooner, for Gisborne.

Tho Union Company's s.s., Manapouri, 1753 tons, Captain Logan arrived in our roadstead at 6.30 this morning. She left Russell on the loth instant at 6 p.m., ancl arrived at Auckland at 7 a.m. on the 10th; left again at 12.30 p.m., and arrived at Gisborne at noon on the 17th; left again the same day at 0 p.m., arriving in Napier as abovo. Sho was tendered by the Sir Donald for cargo and the launch Boojum for passengers. The outward passengers will leave the breastwork at 2 p.m., the steamer getting away for Southern ports shortly afterwards. Tho Union Company's s.s. Omapere was discharging her cargo at the breastwork to-day, and leaves for the North at 5 o'clock this evening. The fore-and-aft schooner Columbia, Capt. Conway, was taken out into the stream at noon to-day, from whence she took her departure for Gisborne with a load of potatoes ex Frank Guy. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. To Anau leaves Wellington this evening for this port, and may be expected to put in an appearance about noon to-morrow. She will bo tendered for ancl with passengers and cargo during the afternoon, and at 4 p.m. will steam for Poverty Bay, Auckland, and Sydney. Tbo s.s. Kiwi leaves Wellington on Monday evening for the coast and Napier. The s.s. Taiaroa, Captain Parsons, will arrive here from Auckland via Gisborne on Monday morning. Sho is advertised to steam i'or Wellington and Dunedin at 10 o'clock tho same morning. [By Cable.] London, August 16. Tho Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association report the arrival of the Mathieda from Lyttelton (left May 2), and Abbey Holme from Lyttelton (left May Melbourne, Friday. Arrived, this morning, Union steamship Wairarapa from the Bluff.
