Information has been received though Mr IT. Thomson, M.H.R., Unit tho Government will offer a reward for the discovery of a payable goldiield in Canterbury. A considerable amount of excitcniont prevails in town in certain quarters on account of the alloyed discovery of gold near Southbridge. It is stated that a number of men have already left to make their fortune at the supposed goldiield.
