July 9—Mary Wadley, three-masted schooner, for Greymouth. 10—Taiaroa, s.s., for Wellington and Dunedin. Passengers—Mr and Mrs Begg and family {£), Mr and Mrs Staufield, _>_essrs Dark, Ashton, Murray, un_ Biggins.
The Union Company's steamer Taiaroa, 228 tons, C. A. Parsons master, anchored in the roadstead at an early hour this morning, and at 7 o'clock Avas tendered by the launch Boojum for inward mails and passengers. The following is a report of the Taiaroa's passage down the coast, kindly furnished by Mr \JohnWaddie, her purser : Left Auckland at 6.30 a.m. on the 7th, and passed Cape Colvillc at 10.30 a.m. same date; breasted White Island at 11 a.m. on the Bth, rounded East Cape at 4.30 p.m., and exchanged signal with s.s. Rotomahana at 6.40 p.m. same evening : arrived at Gisborne at 7.35 a.m. on the 9th, and left again at b p.m. same date, arriA-iug here at daylight to-day. Experienced fierce southerly galo Avith furious squalls and high mountainous sea to arrival at Gisborne, thence from latter port fresh southerly Aviuds and heavy swell to arrival. Horjuutward passengers Avere conveyed off by tho launch at a few minutes after 10 o'clock, tho Taiaroa steaming on her passage for Wellington and Dunedin at 11.30 a.m. Owing to the heaA-y rango in the bay this morning the lighters Avere unable to go out for her cargo, some 20 tons, and it was in consequence obliged to be carried on. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley, Captain Moore, Avas toAved outside yesterday afternoon by the launch Boojum, and at 5.30 p.m. sailed in ballast for Greyrnouth.
Tho steamer Klavl, Captain James Camphell, is expected to an_\ r ehereby to-inonw morning from Wellington. She will discharge her cargo at the brcastAvork, and after shipping a quantity of avool and talloAv is annouueed to steam again for Wellington at 5 j!.m. tho same day. The Wairoa steamers will get aAvny for Wairoa to-night, should a favorable report of the bar at that placo be received during this afternoon.
The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Southern Cross, Capt. Allman, is telegraphed as having left Wellington for Northern ports at 5.30 last night, and should arrive in port during the night. Her time for sailing for Gisborne and Auckland is fixed for 11 o'clock to-morroAV fornoon. [By Cable.] London, July 7.
