HASTINGS DISTRICT SCHOOL.
The annual distribution of prizes to the children of the Hastings district school took place yeste.rday morning, the awards being presented by Captain Russell. The following is the complete prize list:— Advanced VI. Standard.—l, Leslie Ellis; 2, Louis Gallien. Standard Vl.—Harry Lucas. Standard V.—l, Noah Watt; 2, Emma Cablo ; 3, Kate Webb. Standard lII.—I, Win. Wall; 2, Qeo. Stevens ; 3, David M'Guire. Standard ll.—l, Alice Catherall; 2, Wm. Yickere ;3, Lewis Macdonald. ( / Standard l.—l, David Joll; 2, Percy * Hampden ; 3, Eliza Donnelly. Mr Peter Ramsay's Special Prize for best attendance.—Sydney North 396 attendances out of 410. . Mr R. Well wood's Special Prize 3 for Good Conduct. — Senior Division : Mary Donnelly. Junior Divison: Upsall Gray. ' Mr R. Wellwood's Special Prize for Neatness in copy and Exercise Books.— Emma Cable. Mr Peter Ramsay's Prize for Sewing.— Standard IV.: Kate Webb, 100 per cent, of marks. Standard 111. : Mabel Collinge, 100 per cent of marks, Standard II.: Minnie Catherall, 90 marks out of 100. Standard I. : Alice >laddison, 80 marks out of 100. Mr Birch's Special Prize for the Best Letter on New Zealand.—Harry Lucas, the best letter, the production of Leslie Ellis, having been disqualified by having been taken home before presentation to the teacher. Mr Birch's Special Prize for Grammar.— Emma Cable. Mr FitzEoy'e Special Prize for extreme neatness in general work —Emma Cable.
