Cures. accept Mr Stephen's invitation to " come and see." The following remarkable recent cures have been forwarded to us for publication. A few of these were effected by the single I command to " rise and walk," as constantly ordered by Dr. Newton in America, and the celebrated " Jacob the Zouave," in Paris :— " Leg Lengthened- 427, Liverpool-street, Sydney, 24th November, 1881. G. Milner Stephen? Esq. Dear sir,—l have much pleasure in certifying to the wonderful cure which you recently wrought upon my daughter. She was induced to apply to you for relief by another young lady, who had derived great benefit from your treatment. My daughter had been suffering fifteen year 3 from hip disease. The leg effected was weak and attenuated, and two inches shorter than the other leg, and the foot was smaller, necessitating the wearing of a high-heeled boot. She was so very lame that it was painfull to see her walk. Now, after being treated by you, the affected limb is growing strong, and the foot larger, and my daughter can wear an ordinary boot, and plant her foot firmly on the ground ; and she has lately danced at an evening party. I have, therefore, reason to believe that the improvement in my daughter's case is permanent, and that in course of time she will he perfectly cured by you. Feeling grateful for your success, I am, dear Sir, yours faith- j fully, Walter D'Ar"lktta, Overseer, Government Printing Office. Asthma and Liver Complaint.—l hereby certify that having suffered from asthma and liver complaint for nine years, and treated by four doctors without any relief, early in June I went to Mr Milner Stephen, who only treated me three times, and after the third treatment I was entirely cured, and have continued so ever since. — Alfred Ernest Baker, Moorfields, 3rd November, 1881. Witness —S. Herbert. " Rheumatism.—l have had rheumatism in my knees and arms for the last 18 months, and I have not been able to use my hands for the last six months. I have had medical advice but no relief. Mr Milner Stephen today ordered all pains out of my knees and arms ; and I can now move my arms about freely and can walk easily.—Mrs Chambers, Kent-street. November2l,lßßl. Witness: M. F. Allman. " Stiff Knee, &c.—l have had a stiff knee, very much swollen and very painful through scrubbing, and I could scarcely walk. I have been an outdoor patient of the Infirmary, but got no relief. I came to Mr Milner Stephen, and he instantly took all stiffness and pain away by placing his hands on my knee, and now' I can walk quite comfortable. —Mrs Bishop, Francis-street, IGlebe, 21st November, 1881. Witness :M. E. Allman." Sciaticia in Hip.—Mr G. Searle, Greenroad, Moore Park, had his pains " ordered away " by Mr Milner Stephen without touching him, and he walked out of the Hall with comfort. M. F. Allman, secretary, 17th September, 1881. "Acute Rheumatism.—l have been in bed nine weeks with acute rheumatism. The pain was frightful. I could not shut one of my hands, nor move the arm at all, and my ankle was dreadfully swollen. I came to Mr Milner Stephen, who has just breathed into my neck, and then told me to rise and walkaway. My arm, band, and ankle are restored, and I immediately walked in his hall quite cured, and free from pain.—Mr S. Jones. Witness — Miss Alice Jones, Judd-street, Woolloomooloo, 28th September, 1881. Next morning her next door neighbor called to say she was quite cured." RHEUMATIC GOUT. Bathurst, May 2, 1881. To Milner Stephen, Esq. Dear Sir, —At your request I will give you a full statement of my case, which yoa cured early in August, last year. My husband is a watohmaker and jeweller in this city, and I have five children living. About 26 years ago I had a severe attack of rheumatism in my feet, and it gradually spread all over the body, my arms, hands, and head being affected, till at last it flew to my heart. The agony I endured at times is beyond description. My hands, ankles, and knees had chalky excrescences on the joints ; and for about a fortnight before you treated me the excruciating pain in my heart, which seemed to run up to the head, prevented my lying down in a bed. During those 25 years I was always in greater or less pain, so that I could not lift tho slightest thing. Reading in the newspapers of your wonderful cures, I went to Sydney to be treated by you. I saw you three times during the week, when you breathed upon the different parts affected, each time lasting about five minutes, and each time I felt relieved, and I returned home strong and well, with my nervous system quite restored. The lumps on my joints immediately began apparently to melt away. I took magnetised water —five bottles in all —which finished my cure. My case being well-known in Bathurst, hundreds of people, including Bishop Marsden and his wife, came to be assured of my cure after such an extraordinary long and severe illness that the Western Independent had an article about it. About three months ago I had been taking some medicine, and caught ? severe cold, and I felt a stiffness, &c, coming into my elbows and therefore I accompanied my husband to Sydney to have the stiffness removed. You have again taken away the stiffness and pain, and you also " ordered away " rheumatic pains from my husband's shoulder without touching him. — With grateful thanks for your kind services, I am, yours sincerely, Harriet Hayward. Witness —William Hayward. CHRONIC DISEASE OF THE SPINE 30 YEARS. Balmain, April 26, 1881. To Milner Stephen, Esq., Sir,—l take this opportunity of returning you my heartfelt thanks for the cure you have effected on me of Chronic Disease of the lupine, to which I was a martyr at frequent periods since my 14th year. It is now over (9) nine months since you operated on me (and only once), and 1 have not had the least symptoms of a relapse since then, previous to which I was never an entire month without suffering more or less. Mrs Susana Pearson, Adolphus-street. SIGHT RESTORED. January 15, 1881. My daughter, Susan M'Vee, has been blind two years from a needle going into her eye. Dr Gray performed an operation on her, and she has been quite blind since. Mr Stephen has just treated her, and she is suddenly restored, and can now see and describe everything on the table and room with the eye that the doctors declared destroyed.—B M'Vee, Guildford-street. Witnesses — Henry Peirce, J. M. Hutchinson. SPINE DISEASE. January 11, 1881. Case of Matthew Mtjie, 6 Church-street, West Melbourne. Spinal affection of the neck, had ifc for five years, attending hospital, 18 years old now. Attacked first in the back, neck so curved that his chin touched his chest, and was immovably fixed there, so that in order to give him food or drink lie had to be placed on his back on the sofa. Doctors said it was spine disease, and was incurable. Mr Milner Stephen treated the case publicly four times, and the chin became raised the first time two inchss ; and the curvature of the spine has disappeared entirely, as was now proved in the presence of Mr John Carson (who was also present afc the first treatment), and of Judge Paul, of Queensland, who is the writer of these notes. — Geo. YY. Paul. DEAFNESS. January 13, 1881. I have been deaf in one car for 18 years, and also had dimness of sight. In one treatment from Mr Stephen 1 can hear distinctly, and my eyesight is also improved.— Mrs M. E. Winchcomb, 2 Clifton-terrace, Lester-street, Carlton. (Another of Dr Gray's patients.—G.M.S.)
