Nominations for the Maiden Plate, Handicap Hurdle Race, and Waipawa County Racing Club's meeting at Kaikora on New Year's Day, must be in the hands of the hon. 6ec, Mr J. K. Newton, by 8 o'clock to-night. Mrs Harnpson's evangelistic meetings are transferred from the Wesleyan Church to the Theatre Royal. The children of the Port Sabbath school meet at the school-room at 2 p.m. sharp tomorrow for the purpose of attending Mrs Harnpson's service for children. The Artillery Volunteers fire for the district prizes at the rifle range at 5.30 on Monday morning. An excursion train leaves Waipukurau for Napier, calling at intermediate stations, at 4.55 p.m. on Monday, for the convenience of country people wishing to attend Mrs Harnpson's mission service in the Theatre Royal, leaving Napier at 10.30 p.m. On Tuesday next Messrs Banner and Liddle will sell at their rooms a quantity of household furniture and effects, also 30 bundles bananas. Mr Monteith has teen instructed to sell on Friday next, at Glendinning's yards, near Napier railway station, 40,000 feet sawn timber. Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co. announce that they have arranged to open a branch establishment of their Napier business at Hastings, where they wiil conduct all kinds of stock, general commission, and auctioneering transactions, and will supply station stores and requirements at •wholesale prices. Mr Monteith, secretary of the Napier Recreation Ground Company, invites tenders for the erection of a pavilion on the company's ground. Messrs Banner and Liddle hold their next wool sale at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The Town Clerk pnblishes clause 28 of the Public Health Act for general information, and informs the public that the Borough Council is the local Board of Health, and that all reports must be forwarded to the Town Clerk. Tho entertainment in aid of the prize fund of the Hastings district school, announced to take place on Thursday next, will be given on the following Tuesday evening instead. Mr Or. Grant, Havelock, has ten good loose boxes, with use of saddle room, boy's whare, and trainer's room, to let. Mr R. Wellwood, Hastings, wants tenders for tying and stacking about 100 acres of grain. Mr R. France has a seven-roomed house in tins Coote road to let. Messrs Neal and Close invite the public to come and see the choice new articles on all their tables to-night. In our supplement Messrs Combs and Co. quote reduced prices for prints and ginghams which are being offered at the extraordinary sale at the Cash Palace. A practical accountant wants tradesmen's books to keep. A chestnut mare lias been impounded at Hastings, which, unless redeemed, will be sold on December 23. Woods' trico saron fluid is a valuable preparation for increasing the growth of the hair. A number of new advertisements will be found in our" Wanted" column.
