DUNEDIN.
December 9. About three weeks ago the Otago Daily Times reported briefly a lecture given by the Rev. A. C. Gillies on " The Inspiration of the Bible." On Thursday a reporter of the Times—not he, however, who reported tbe lecture—received tbe following letter :—" Sir,—Before begining my lecture on ' The Inspiration of the bible I stated that I wished 'it to be distinctly understood that neither the Times nor the Star is allowed to report me any more;' but I have been told that some time after this you came in. Of course you were not aware of what had been eaid before you entered. Now, to prevent possible misunderstanding in future, I wish to say to yourself that your presence is not desired in the North Dunedin Presbyterian Church. So long as I am the minister of it only Christians and such sinners as are worth saving, or at least are capable of being saved, are welcome there. — Respectfully, A. C. Gillies." The Times, in publishing the letter, suggests tbat Mr Gillies is suffering from acute mania, and needs looking after.
