WAIROA HARBOR BOARD.
The Harbor Board met yesterday at Wairoa.
A discount note of members for a money advance was signed by the members, and the Board's account, amounting to £100, was transferred to tbe Union Bank of Australia.
A letter was read from Mr Stewart, stating that" his fee for the report would be £50, and that he would give his services to Mr Blackett in providing details free of cost, besides assisting to forward the Board's scheme. — The charge was deemed very moderate, and was ordered to be paid. A reply was read from the Government stating that Mr Stewart's Scheme had been referred to the Government marine engineer for his approval. Notice of motion was given for next month to the effect that the Board take over the pilot service of the port, and apply to have the pilot re.erve and foreshore vested in the Board.
In reference \o Mr Blythe's remarks at the recent meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, it wa? moved, "Tbat this Board disavows the charge imputed by Mr Blythe of having in most indecent haste tried to jump on the Napier harbor scheme." The promoters of the scheme were never mentioned at the Board meeting.
