Auckland v. Canterbury.

This match was continued yesterday. The weather was bad, with a drizzling rain falling, but notwithstanding there was a good attendance. Auckland, with six wickets down for 91 runs, continued its first innings, and before the men were all disposed of had put together 162 runs*, 32 more than the first innings of Canterbury. The local team then went in for their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 155 runs for the loss of five wickets. Hartland, b Gill 10 Watson, not out ... ... ... 52 Wilding, lbw, b Gill 9 Reeves, c Arneil, b Laakham ... 18 Ashby, c Frith (sub.), b Robinson... 49 Fowke, c and b Robinson .. ... 7 Extras 10 Total for 5 wickets ... 155 The Canterbury men resumed their places at the wickets this morning, and the innings closed for a total of 180 runs.
