Mr Beaney has instituted an action at law against the proprietors of the Argus for having published an article commenting unfavorably upon his public career in connection with election proceedings. The damage is laid at £10,000.
November 29,
The Legislative Council Chamber was last night most successfully lighted by electricity. It is stated to be probable that Sir John Henry Lefroy will succeed Sir W. Robinson as Governor of West Australia.
